Justin Bieber, David Foster, Sarah McLachlan and a group of other celebrities have donated their sunglasses to a fundraiser charity for the Canadian National Institute for the Blind. Open to the public at www. cnib.ca/auctions, the Shades of Fun auction on eBay is type of an yearly drive that promotes Canadians to wear sunglasses to defend their eyes and that raise money to support CNIB services for people without vision.
"Whether it's the families of my foundation or Canadians getting too much sun (yes it does shine a lot in Canada!), the well-being of Canadians is important to me," said Foster, winner of many Grammy awards, who was the first celeb to lend his support. "Please wear your shades to shield yourself from the sun's UV rays - or the paparazzi."
Other athletes, media personalities and entertainers will also be helping out, also Canada AM's Jeff Hutcheson, Olympic gold medallist Christine Nesbitt, Being Erica actress Erin Karpluk, and Carole Pope and musician Jann Arden.
"We're thrilled and humbled by the generosity of these celebrities," Steve Lutz said, CNIB's vice-president of fund development. "Their participation will go a long way toward raising awareness about vision health and raising funds for CNIB services from coast to coast."
