Back in December last year, it was reported that the show had fired its entire writing staff. But the comic book creator of The Walking Dead, Robert Kirkman made it clear that the incident never happened and the show has its writing staff - 3 full time writers (Evan Reilly, Scott Gimple and Angela Kang) and one freelancer.
The second season of the show is scheduled to air in October 2011. Robert Kirkman also revealed some details on the character Andrea (played by Laurie Holden) saying that in the upcoming season she will have a strong role and will become one of the protectors of the group just like in the comic book. The pain and anger that she suffered in the first season will be turned into motivation in season 2 which will help her in dealing with zombies.
